Children will learn about bizarre live insects from around the world in this exhibit featuring a butterfly house as well as more than two-dozen living and mounted bugs ranging from glow-in-the-dark scorpions to bird-eating tarantulas. thru May 18 - 23rd Annual Festival of Flowers - Each spring Biltmore's Festival of Flowers celebrates the beauty of George W. Vanderbilt's 8,000-acre property and its original design by Frederick Law Olmsted, father of American landscape architecture. During this time, the estate's legendary gardens showcase a seasonal display of vibrant colors from thousands of tulips in the Walled garden to native and exotic blooms in the 20-acre azalea garden. Biltmore's gardens, Olmsted's final and most grand project, are in their 118th year, continuing to mature and growing more beautiful every year. thru May 4 - American Red Cross Water Safety Courses - A number of water safety courses have been scheduled by Asheville-Mountain Area Chapter of the American Red Cross this spring. Lifeguarding, Lifeguard Instructor, Safety Training for Swim Coaches and Water Safety Instructor will be offered at the Zeugner Recreation Center the weekends of April 25th, 26th, 27th and May 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. thru May 6 - UNC Asheville Senior Holds Painting Exhibition - "Portrait of an Infestation," an exhibition of 12 paintings by UNC Asheville senior Kara Bender, will be on view April 25-May 6 at UNC Asheville's Highsmith University Union Gallery. The show is a culmination of Bender's work toward a bachelor of fine arts degree at UNC Asheville. thru May 30 - UNC Asheville Senior Presents Printmaking Exhibition - "The Modern World in Ancient Stories," an exhibition of some 15 intaglio and letterpress pieces by UNC Asheville senior Julia Smith, will be on view April 30-May 30 at UNC Asheville's Blowers Gallery. An opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, in the gallery. Smith's prints focus on the Irish fairy tale "Guleesh," the Japanese fairy tale "The Straw Cape" and the Greek myth "Apollo and Daphne." The exhibition is a culmination of Smith's work toward a bachelor of arts degree at UNC Asheville.

The four mile route will wind around and through Asheville's downtown neighborhoods and will include twenty houses of worship in the Christian, Jewish and Buddhist traditions.
